Default abs barrel wiring plug 87s4 aut

87 s4 aut.

looking at this barrel plug connector, it is white and in a black plastic casing. the brake sensor and abs plug go into it, and out the other end is a ground wire and 5 wires.

i am looking for the wiring and the barrel plug, as mine in pic, po cut the wires next to plug....

this causes brake light to come on, and abs light to come on.

You will have to find them from a dismantler such as 928 International as I don't believe they are available any longer. At least when I needed them they weren't.

They are available new and very expensive. I bought a used pair from 98Intl and wrapped the wires with electrical tape. You may need the male plugs as well. They are also available from Mark.

Whatever material they made these out of I believe has pretty much outlived it useful life. I've sourced a couple used, but they have a tendency to just crumble. I finally got mine fixed down in the wheel wells only to have the same thing happen on the other end in the engine bay on the fenders. There has to be a reasonable automotive grade connector that would work. That's my plan anyhow.

Default abs barrel connector

87s4 aut.

i wonder if i can splice and sodder and by pass the connectors? that means i would have to identify the 5 wires coming from the harness, and then match with brake pad sensor and abs sensor.

this obviously means that plug and play for swapping out a sensor is not easy without cutting and resplicing, but has anyone done this? i.e. bypass the barrel connector?

my other issue is the 5 wires from the main harness abs are so darkened by soot they look all black....makes id difficult....too.

Try wiping the end of the wire with a solvent - brake cleaner, mineral spirits, acetone or lacquer thinner in order of increasing power and risk.
