Definitely bore with scratches. Looks like the pistons overheated and you had some pitting or burn out on the edges. Likely from a lean running condition.

Is this the only cylinder like that?

With s second and third look it might also be carbon build up. Run some water through it and look again. Or seafoam if you want to spend money on it.

Define interesting... Want to hear as many opinions as possible without my own "poluting" the discussion... yet...

Yeah, was in a rush, could not find the SD card... The wet stuff is oil...

If you could focus better we would have an even easier time diagnosing.

There is not much space there to swing the borescope's head. Maybe I should install a SD card and try and take some more pictures...

But the uniform opinion is that you are seeing wear pattern on the cylinder walls...

There is no pitting on the pistons - what you are seeing is an optical illusion - this engine runs very rich through the rev range...

just looks like an oily piston, left some oily marks on the cylinder wall? Might not be wear at all!

the engine smokes and pressurizes the crank case... i wish it was just oily traces up the cylinder walls...

If the rings were broken, you would expect to see oily traces or scratches on the cylinder walls everywhere... The pictures show the thrust faces of cylinders 5,6,7 and 8... There was nothing worth photographing on the rest of the cylinder walls...

Pic of the first cylinder looks really bad, the second is debatable.

See, I was hoping that it was just the rings not sealing well, but now I think there is a bit more to it...
