Default Alum rad and fan shroud

I'm following Dwayne's guide for the TB/WP procedure and i'm at the part where he takes out the fan shroud. However my car has the aluminum rad (928 motorsports sticker). I can pull up to get the tabs at the bottom out, but past that I can't get the shroud out.

I've included a picture of the left and right side, i'd rather not disconnect anything so is there a trick to getting out? Is it really necessary for the shroud to come out to do the TB/WP?

You need to disconnect the cooler lines. Ya won't loose much fluid. Be sure to unplug the electrical connections, abd un clip the electrical from the fan shroud.

Both sides or is one side enough? If one side is enough which side is easier?

Both sides. It'll come right out. Remember it's 27 years old, treat it as such, and be careful. Top radiator hose also. Don't disconnect the A/C lines. There's a sensor at the bottom of the radiator, unplug that also.

Either I didn't eat my Wheaties this morning or the wrenches I tried weren't cutting it. These connections were TIGHT (even after a pb soak). Then i read if you don't counter hold correctly you can break stuff inside the rad. In an attempt to not make more work for myself by breaking something (and having to spend more money), I took out the PS res (since it had a leak I needed to replace it anyways).

This gave me just a little more room and i managed to push back and up and get the right side out first then I was able to get the whole thing out. It still looks like everything on the shroud is in one piece, hopefully it goes back in the same way, thanks for the help
