i picked up a S3 long block, but decided to go another route for a motor to play with. Cams are from a M28/44 motor 85-86. clean, no rust. coated in assembly lube and wrapped up for storage. 300 OBO plus shipping.
heads are up fro grabs too (bent valves/TB fail motor)
Changing cams is a lot of work , why would you not go with a set of Colins cams ?
I pulled out the GT cams , installed Colins triflows and a exhaust system and picked up over 60 HP

If I had to guess why someone wouldn't go with Colin's cams it would probably be due to them costing around $4-5,000.

Can I have your driver's side exh cam please? I'll happily give up my ground S3 cam or whatever.
If I ever parted with the GT cams It would be as a set , I will never put them back in , the car runs so nicely now , but I just like to keep all the original bits . TRIFLOW = stagered intake lobes , one valve opens sooner and one closes later , it maintains better air flow , resulting in better mid range without effecting top end . I also have 2 sets of S4 cams / a set of threshie race cam ( probable junk) and a extra set of Colins TRIFLOW cams . And a set of 16v highlift new from billet cams with matching heads fully ported big valves ect
