Default Window regulator

My passenger side window suddenly became inop. The motor turns, the switch seems to work fine and the glass is loose in the door but is stuck fully down. I'm thinking a failed regulator, or is it possible the glass is off the track?. Is this unit rebuildable, or just replaced? I will have the door panels off soon for new speakers, but is there a published procedure for removing a regulator from a 82? Thanks.

One possibility is a failed roller on the end of the regulator arm. The roller can be replaced fairly cheaply. You will need to remove the regulator from the door, drill out the end of the rivet that holds the roller, replace the roller and rivet and peen the end of the rivet, then replace the regulator in the door.

WYAIT (While You Are In There) check and lubricate everything. You can replace the nylon collars that run up and down the guide post, or you can add a few nylon wire ties around them to take up any wear.

Nice! I had a Matchbox car in the '70s of your car, only blue.

Where can I get replacement parts for the regulator? The usual sources or does one have to source parts other than Porsche to make it work? Thanks

We stock the roller and pin if you need them.
