Default what holds this on?

I knocked this window trim corner piece off. It appears to have channels on each side and a tab at the V. I couldn't get it to snap in and it felt like it would pop off. I added a small dalop of trim adhesive, gentley snug/ bent the channel and tab in to "tighten". It was kind of a pain getting it back where I think it belongs, but it still doesn't seem very secure. That and the black on the long trim piece appear to have been covered more... just looking at the fade. What is the trick to these?

Kurt, that looks about right-- the "U" piece clips around the two straight-ish channels, and I think hooks into the rubber around the U-bend. It wants to fit tightly to the ends of the two straight pieces, which means it all really wants to be assembled simultaneously. You may need to lift the ends of the two straight pieces and fit them to the "U", then convince them to pop back in place.

It does look like it was pushed on farther, historically, but where you have it looks correct. (Try a little Mother's back-to-black).

Cheers, Jim
