Any help with the connections to the rear speakers. Seems my stock setup had 2 sets of wires to each speaker where these new speakers I see only connections for 1 set?

Jim,

I believe the two different connections are:

1 from the amp and the other feeds the small speakers in the rear hatch area.

I read that it is recommended to eliminate hooking up the small rear hatch speakers are they are a waste anyway.

I have blank adapters back in stock, and another 4 sets of drivers left if anyone still needs a set.

Thanks
Hans

Bump- Got my set.

Anyone have impressions/results to post up yet?

Is there consensus on that rear wiring concern?

Screw the Earthquake driver into the back of the adapter, and then the assembly fits in to the grill shell with the foam tape. Re-use the factory mounting screws to hold the entire assembly in the B-pillar. When screwing the assembly into the B-pillar, everything will draw tight, and the foam tape will compress creating a good seal.

Hope that helps,
Hans
"Foam tape"? Never received any foam tape.

There should have been a small zip-loc baggie with two pieces of foam tape. Double check and make sure it didn't get stuck in the packing material. I can drop it in the mail if I somehow left it out of your box.

Thanks
Hans

Mine have been installed for a week now. My overriding reaction is that these should be part of the kit that comes with the door speakers Hans sells. They are the perfect complement to them. Hans' door speakers are a vast improvement over the OEM speakers, so much so, that the improved quality of the midrange and upper frequencies make the OEM B pillar speakers woefully inadequate. These new speakers provide the mid-bass the OEM speakers couldn't produce.
As far as the rear speaker wiring--I disconnected them and don't think I am missing a thing.
Kudos to Hans for another great product! Keep them coming!

Might as well add, found the discussion on rear drivers in the front-speaker thread, the recommendation was to delete/abandon them for the upgrade installs.

Looks like I'm replacing these:

Must've been a costly install with the Denon h/u (since removed) back in the day!

Guys. I am doing my '87. I don't see anywhere in the thread. Is the green wire positive? I am seeing in some generic searches that not all manufacturers used the same standardization.
