Default Fraggle's method of fixing noises

Had a great weekend hanging out with Fraggle and Avar928 yesterday. Learned a ton about the cars and actually got my first 'real' ride in one. What a blast.
Today Fraggle came by to check out my 87 auto. I think it got the fraggle seal of approval. After looking it over and pointing out some things that need replacing, I fired it up to let him listen because after hearing the two cars yesterday, I suspected I have a vacuum leak or something because mine sounded quite a bit different. After starting the car, fraggle looked at me and said that he heard a bearing grinding. Then he said "Aaah...I know...it's the airpump....I can fix that." He reaches in his pocket and pulls out a pocket knife...he digs under the hood then hands me a belt. I looked a bit puzzled .. he told me to start it up again. the grinding went away I found it pretty funny actually.
Great guy and great source of knowledge..Much appreciated. I do still have a leak of some kind. Might have to get the manifold off to find it.

That's awesome. The knowledge on this forum is incredible. So many people have helped me work on my car without even knowing that they helped me.

The dash recover had a slip stream effect. added about 6hp to the wheel. It was truly amazing! Avar..your car is no slouch either

You can get started by pulling the radiator and fans. You won't need the flywheel lock until a little later.

Let me know when you're working on it. I can stop by and help.

Would be a good learning experience.
