Default Leaking fuel injector

Hey guys--
I got my cleaned fuel injectors back a couple weeks ago and installed. Car was running very well, most importantly, there were no leaks after I installed.

The injector cleaning company installed the factory "hats" and the two inch fuel hoses. I put them on the fuel rail and used fuel injection hose clamps.

So like I said, for about two weeks everything was fine. Yesterday, I noticed a gas smell coming out of the front of the car. I pulled the car into the driveway, and noticed one injector leaking really badly, looks like from the bottom (injector end). The fuel hose at the top (near the rail) was dry. I took the rails off this morning, but I cannot find anything different with the leaking injector. I first suspected that the "hats" they installed were the issue. They are relatively loose (you can spin them), but if that was true then more than one of the injectors would be leaking.

Below are some pictures. I am having a lot of trouble getting the hoses off the rails or the ends. I am going to have someone do it for me, since I don't want to nick the rails or the injectors.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

I don't like the looks of that groove on the rail.

I'm not sure if you are descibing the same problem I had. A while back I noticed the smell of fuel inside the car. Looking under the hood I noticed the injector hose on one injector was damp near the hat (i.e. very top of the injector / bottom of the two inch fuel hose. I've experienced this on several old Z cars I've modified in the past.

I just put a fuel injector hose clamp on the base of the injector just above the hat to provide a better seal and the leak was gone. I'm sure the right way to do it is to pull the rail and injector and have new hats installed but this was a fast and easy fix and has been fine for the better part of a year.

My own clumsiness. I'm tempted to just reinstall and see if it leaks. These things are $600, unless I can find a used one. 928 International has the other side for $50.

I'm guessing based on z driver 88t post, I just need to add a clamp. But now I think I need a new fuel rail.

You have hose clamps at both ends, right? I'm thinking any company that would provide the hose with the injectors would know this, but it's worth checking that it's FI hose and not just fuel hose. Do you see any writing on the hose? Trying to think of something that would change over a 2 week period... other than the hose clamp loosening up.

No, the company only put the hats on the bottom, not FI hose clamps. Which must be the issue, although that's how it comes from the factory. The only thing I could make out on the fuel hose was "Gates," the rest is numbers.

I am going to have all the injectors reinstalled on the fuel rails professionally, with clamps at both ends. Anyone have anyone that could do this in the N. Jersey area?
