Default Speaker sizes for an '82

Just a request--since I can't seem to find an answer anywhere (short of removing the cards and covering)--to ask what the speaker sizes are for my '82. The tweeters in the front doors are shot and the two behind the front seats aren't in much better shape and I'd like to replace them.

My 928 is N/A and ROW.

I guess the max size would be really nice to know.

Thanks so much, everyone.

I am not an audiophile, but as I understand it the speakers on our older cars are very narrow, and therefore finding speakers that fit is very hard to do. You can cut up your doorcard, but that's not an optimium solution, IMHO.

Your best bet I think is to check in with Hans14914, who is building speakers for our cars. These are certainly on my list, once more pressing mechanical things are done.

IIRC the fronts are 100mm dia, but the depth clearance may be an issue with modern ones. My old ones are on the bench - I can check them and adviser later. My new HU would go quiet initially after a few seconds, and I worked out that the LH door unit was shorting on the door body. A bit if panel beating of the inner skin, and some insulating fixed it - no problems with the RH door though.

Looks like I have tossed the old speakers - what could I have been thinking ??

Hans speakers are the perfect solution - plug and play.

I hear ya! Right after I recycle/toss something is when I need it. Now I give it to friends so I can get/buy it back!

Anyways, I thank you for the help and, when you have a minute, I would be happy to see what the measurements are.

:-)
