Default Interior color code info, again

Sorry if this a broken record, but I can't identify the proper seat color on my 82 5 speed for redyeing. I called a Porsche dealer and they told me the interior code through the VIN information was YT. I couldn't find anything with this code, any suggestions? I thought the color was cashmere beige and the dash and headliner the standard brown leather, but now who knows? If I can't find a proper code, I'm just going to redye all the seats and center rear console with Leatherique cashmere beige and be done with it. I think the standard brown for everything else is correct. Thanks!

Default is this any help?

This is from an upholstery book and NOT necessarily Porsche OEM names/colors

Is your 82 perhaps a weissach edition? They have 2-tone interiors of light brown and darker brown.

Pics would help identify whether it is, as would a VIN number (462 is the option code for Weissach edition).

The interior code the dealer gave is most likely a production code for the interior color scheme, not a code for a specific color. All the interior component color codes in PET are three digit alpha-numeric codes. You can sometimes make an educated guess using the color listings for different components in PET and color samples through the process of elimination.

The VIN is WP0JA0926CS822168, hopefully someone can decipher the colors.

Based on the picture you sent, I still believe it is brown with grey beige. But I cannot say this with 100% Certainty, and you need to be aware that the color is probably faded by now and might not look exactly like the samples you see.

It doesn't have the Weissach Edition option code - which rules out that particular two-tone scheme.

Plenty of other cars have two-tone interiors specified originally - however, the interior option colours aren't specified in the usual 3-digit option codes found on the rear hatch sticker.

Hi,
Interior colors from an original 1983 Porsche 928 catalogue! Hope it helps!
PS: It's in Spanish language.

Two digit interior code tells almost everything needed to know what colors and materials interior was made with. Only small problem is that those codes are not generally known and available. Sometimes it helps to search other Rennlist areas. Same codes were used for same MY for different models. For example GTS code explanations can sometimes appear in 968 threads.
