Hi Guys,
I pulled my airbox and i realised that i was missing a rubber seal between the airbox and the engine. I ordered the missing part: 93011012200 but now i am not sure how to put this together...
Does anybody has a picture how this should be put together, it doesn't really feel like it fits right now...
Thanks in advance!

The lower air box sits on top of the seal and it compresses as you tighten it down.
The original has a compressed set in it from being in place for a long time.
Present the lower air box to the seal.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

The rubber should sit down in the groove visible (?) in the first pic. If you offer up the lower cleaner casing with the seal as in pic 2, I dont think it will fit. I replaced my seal because it had flattened to the point where the hold down bolt was bottoming.

sorry to hijack the thread but the spider air box doesn't feature very often on here!
I had my air box off this weekend ( not a regular occurance, getting it back in is a swine) and would like to know
a) what the sprung " prong" with the flared top between the butterfly and fuel unit is called PET has it as (17) Allen Key which I presume pushes down on (15) control lever?
) what is it's function. I note that if you fully depress it by hand it drops the disk a couple of mm's, but also once the air box is back in position it seats in a tube therefore there is no pressure on it at all and it appears to do nothing?

The disc is the 'air plate' - it gets pulled down by air being sucked into the engine, which moves a lever underneath, and this alters the fuel feed pressure to the injectors. If you have the air cleaner off, jumper the fuel pump relay, and push the plate down, you should hear the injectors hiss as they spary fuel into the inlets. Or you could watch it while somebody cranks the engine...Look up CIS operation in one of the Bosch books.

Sorry, I haven't made myself clear.
The item I am referring to is between the air plate and the bolt top centre of the picture above.
It has a flared top and is sprung so you can push it down with your finger and the air plate opens as you get to the bottom of travel

Thats the mixture adjustment - it needs a long 3mm allen key, that can come through a hole in the air cleaner casing; after pushing down against the spring to engage with the hex hole, you can adjust the arm from the air plate to the plunger in the distributor , to change the base mixture. Be aware that its VERY sensitive!!! Clockwise=richer..IIRC. Also note that while pushing it down you change the mixture, so you make a change, release pressure, check the result, repeat as needed . Usually if there are mixture problems, all the other possible causes should be checked (eg fuel pressure, WUR control etc) before playing with this adjustment.

I'm assuming that this adjustment needs to be made whilst the engine is running?
You seem to be suggesting that just pushing it down changes the setting, is that the case? or down and turn does the business?
Why does something so obviously questionably fun to play with as a noobie have such an important and potentially catastrophic role in the clean running of the car, that's all I can say!!!!!
