86 - How toget cam sprockets off of cams?

AFAIK there isnt any taper on the cam noses....Maybe on an Audi...

the steel washer is used to reinforce the aluminum gear and distribute its loading on the shaft. since the aluminum is softer than the shaft it could wear into the face of the gear,
The steel gear is stronger and no reinforcement is needed
