Little green 'D'
The little green 'D' in my heads-up display went dark, all other transmission indicator positions still light up. I guess there is a special little bulb for the 'D' position?

Even if you don't flip to LEDs, it shows you how to access the bulbs.

Speaking of paranoid, my little green 'D' is not burnt out after all. Recently I found that when I push the trip reset once or twice it turns back on. A loose wire perhaps? Hmm. This resulted from the last time the console was taken out.

Randy you really are a prat sometimes, heads up to some countries, means we can see it on our dash cluster, not just on the shifter plate, might want to think before shooting sometimes dude.

Had the same problem with "D", changed the bulb with a known good bulb but no luck...could it possibly be a bad contact in the shifter? Have not looked yet, just wondering if anyone else has chased the same problem and what they found?

Is the shifter pointing directly at the correct gear in the center console, i.e., is it misaligned? I tightened the cable, still no "D". Had to replace the switch on the transmission.

Yes, shifter is pointing at the "D". All other trans indicator bulbs illuminate fine. Sounds like I need to check the switch on the trans, thanks!
