For sale- 89 GT, rare and beautiful.
I bought this car in 2003. I've driven it very little, and have loved every second of it.
I'm asking $17900.
Here are the details-
89 GT
5 spd
Black/black
Sunroof
This is one of the earliest known 1989 GT in the US.
All body panels have original VIN tags and no sign of any body work.
The car comes with all documentation (excluding the original window sticker), maintenance receipts since new, and spare keys.
Present odometer- 131,000
VIN # WP0JB0920KS861107 Option codes: C02, 046, 158, 220, 393, 418, 474, 481, 570, 639, 650
New parts/notes-
-Wrinkle black powder coated intake and valve covers.
-Good crankshaft endplay (did not write down number. But it's well within tolerance.)
-Refurbished injectors.
-Timing belt
-Porsche water pump
-Porsche Oil pump
-Porken tensioner.
-New Porsche engine mounts.
-Just changed the transmission oil and limited slip additive.
-New fuel lines
-New cam gears
-New distributor rotors/caps.
-New hoses in engine area.
-Paint is very good with front portions typical for the number of miles.
-928 Int'l stainless steel rear muffler bypass system
-Zero oil leaks.
-CD changer.
-Potenza tires with 3800 miles on them.
-Currently smogged.
-Custom solid steering rack mounts. (Made them in my machine shop with loving tenderness and attention.)
New parts from previous owner-
Radiator,
a/c retrofit to r134,
Compressor/receiver drier/expansion valves,
Distributor caps/wires/plugs,
Ignition modules,
cam tower seals,
steering rack,
Tie rods,
Front rotors, pads,
lh brain,
Clutch, clutch master and slave,
Alternator,
Rear main seal,
Power steering hose (high pressure side)
Things that have problems-
-A/C (The clutch never actuates. I'm betting it's the relay in the dash area.)
-Typical cracked dash/pod
-Front tires uneven from driving before alignment.
-Seat bolster cracks on driver's side.
-Digital clock works, but has a weird black spot in it.
-Cigarette lighter missing
-Hood needs touch-up in a few spots.
-I have the stock muffler. But I see no reason to put it on aside from making the car entirely stock.
This is a very rare, all original GT. You won't see many 928 GTs with the original club sport wheels.
The GT has forged alloy club sport wheels, sport suspension, GT camshafts, a short ratio manual transmission, 17mm rear wheel spacers, different intake (same as GTS), lightened twin outlet exhaust, rolled fender lips front and rear, shorter shift lever. This car has the mechanical limited slip differential. Memory seats. Sunroof. CD changer.
All body panels have original vin tags and no sign of any body work. All receipts ever paid, and all documention, comes with car. Spare keys. The car has been extremely well cared for.
Compression test notes from previous owner-
had a compression test/leakdown done today. engine was warm but not hot.
compression as follows:
1)160
2)155
3)160
4)155
5)160
6)160
7)170
8)160
consistent. mechanic said those were good numbers for how he did it.
leakdown was also consistent, though the gauge he used was different from
those i've seen before. it had a green "good" section, yellow "fair"
section and red "poor" section. the leakdowns were all in the upper third
of the green section. again he said that was very good.
I'm asking $17900.

I think that the 928 Registry says that your car, #1107, is the very first 89 GT made.
Another one, about #1121 or so, has just been on eBay twice and only bid for about $13,000 the first time around and then just the other day only for just over $11,000. Of course, it didn't sell. There was a brief thread about it here that I started. It has similar mileage to yours.
I recently acquired a very early 90 GT that was actually made just the month after yours, and I think it was, oddly enough, made while they were still making the 89s. Yours was made in March 89 and mine in April 89. Mine is #0078.

I guess you cannot believe everything you read on the internet. I went back and looked again at the 928 Registry and it says that 1107 is the earliest 89 GT "registered" then it lists number 1100, but without a picture. At another place it says that the earliest 89 GTs were 1100, 1102, 1103 and then 1107. However in the registered information about 1107 it says its Production number was "01." I guess it is just a very early 89 GT.
Nice car. GLWTS.

Thank you.
So this is the 82nd GT engine build, the first one beeing m28/47 85K 00061.
Any possibility to note the gearbox number?
I bet something like G28/55 2K 00XXX. XXX should be around 590.
These informations help me to understand the production order of the US\RoW series.

IMHO that car needs to be molested a little. I am thinking new seats, sport steering wheel, Turbo twists, and then pump some air into that engine. Keeping all the factory parts with the car of course. Great car and glws. Hopefully a rennlister gets it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the replies. Even the silly ones.
It's an amazing car. I've never gotten out of this car bored. But then I live near some stunning roads.
