Thanks. I'm new to welding so I'm glad they don't look too bad. I used a MIG with .030 and 75/25.

I have had almost the same problem with the nuts coming loose from the backing plates my solution was to weld a bar on the original nut just long enough to hold in place with your fingers while you tighten the bolt up. The bar just sits behind the plate doesn't get in the way at all. I hope this helps anyone with the same problem...
