I've wanted to retrofit my console to the old style analog clock ever since I got the car (just can't get over that fugly digital clock).

I got the clock and surround just to find out that the consoles are slightly different and it won't work without significant modification.

So my question is this... Would an '82 console fit right in an '85 or are there unforeseen issues?

Well, I guess I'm gonna find out... Offered this guy $100 for a leather console from an '82 w/32K miles and he accepted. (thought I lowballed him... oh, well)

Figured I couldn't go wrong if a used one from 928intl is $500. And it looks pretty good if you zoom in. If it really is from a low mile car the ashtray's gotta be in better shape than mine anyway.

Well, I guess I won't be finding out after all.

Got a message this morning from the seller (Ebay ID: woody37p = company name Automotive Lease Group, Inc. in Del Ray Beach FL) that I can have an inferior console in a different color or they will refund my $. No explanation, justification or apology... nothing. Just a no frills bait-and-switch.

At least I didn't have to go through Paypal to get my $ back... this time.

Do NOT deal with these guys. Caveat emptor, brothers.

Could file a complaint with ebay. Let them know what's going on. I bet they are using this to lure people in and then do the switch.
