Unfortunately the photo of Paul and his trophy is too large a file to post. I will do some work on it and try and reduce the size of file.

I just had a look at the article posted on Landshark Oz site, which details the owners work to get his car perfect .... good reading and certainly a beautiful car !!

I can relate to the obsession to get everything perfect ... it's definitely a disease.

Congratulations on your obviously well deserved win Paul

Thanks Dave for the link to Paul's "The Street Car Named Desire".

Now the question is how long did it take to carry out the restoration? If you read the article on the Landsharkoz web site, as mentioned in Dave's post #17 you will get the answer.

I have just read an article in the March/April 2013 "Classic Porsche" magazine on the restoration of a RHD 356 Speedster in Melbourne that took 3 year to do. The Speedster was in very poor condition, so see how your guess goes regarding the time taken to restoration/refurbishment of the 928S4.

I still struggle to believe that Paul did all that work and got 3rd in a state based event (article linked in post #17 was written 2 or 3 years ago). Can't imagine what he did to win this time. Maybe he just parked it and brought it out for this event.

Would be nice to know if there were cars from other states or was it mainly NSW? Any other 928's?

Hi Norm,
There were 4 other 928 in the "show and shine section", Paul's was the only 928 in the Master Class Concours d'Elegance, all of which had won previous Concours d'Elegance. IIRC there was a 356 Speedster,
A GT3, a Boxter, a 944, a 996 and some others.

I personally noted cars from Victoria & Queensland as well, so good cross section of Porsche Cars.

I noted there were around 100 cars in the judging area alone ranging from 356 up to the latest models,
Porsche Australia had historical collection of cars on display and there were numerous Porsches present not to mention the Porsches in pit lane for the Prosche Carrera Cup Australia, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, Historics - Group S and Group N, Porsche Sports Cars and Iconic Porsche Demonstrations. A very interesting 2 day program.

If you go on line to www.rennsportaustralia.com.au you should be able to see a copy of the official program and the list of events.

Paul certainly deserves the win and why not, it's a great car! He's helped a number of 928 owners bring their cars up to concours condition, at his 'man cave'!

Another Paul had his 928 at Rennsport. Paul Dortkamp is the President of the Porsche Club of New South Wales. Paul also has a track 928 and often will be seen driving it, at the Eastern Creek track. Well done Pauls!
