Default Radio/ interior lights/ door chime issue.

In my 1983 S (USA model), none of the interior lights come on, the radio does not operate, the clock does not work, and the door chime does not stop when the car is running. I can't think of anything that I've done to the car to cause any of these issues. In fact, all of these items mentioned worked this morning, and then this afternoon, everything went haywire. Any ideas on the cause of this issue and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking fuse 23, but that wouldn't explain the radio... I would replace it, but don't have any fuses on hand at the moment. Tried searching here for similar experiences, but didn't come up with anything.

Thanks in advance.

Fuse 23 feeds all the circuits in question including the radio. You are on the right track with the circuit for fuse 23. Not sure why a blown fuse would cause the key warning buzzer that reminds you the key is still in the ignition when the door is open would stay on. Time to start digging.

If the fuse is blown then dont put in another one.

Do this first,
disconnect the battery,

remove all of the interior lamps from the respective positions,

heat shrink the positive wire ends and the grounds .

then scrub the lights out with a soapy tooth brush so they will be brighter,

install them noting that they should all be wired the same way,

NOTE pay attention to the center lamp wires ( over the mirror) see if they have gotten cut from how they were routed to the center.

NOTE the hatch wire colors are different.

remove the pin switches from the door jambs clean them .

remove the right side console cover and inspect the clock and radio wires for shorting out.

Replace the fuse for the lights.

Clean the chassis ground .

Connect the strap and see if the lights and radio function as they should.

Stan has given you some great advice. It is critical that the interior light circuit and all of the lights work as designed. Each light has a switch (OFF, ON, AUTO), and each light must work correctly in all three positions with both doors and the hatch.
