I just changed my transmission fluid in my 82 5 speed to Mobil 1 synthetic. The magnetic plug did have some metal shavings on it, but the fluid had not been changed in a while. I have not noticed much improvement on how it shifts from before the fluid change. I still have the occasional crunchy 2nd gear, but not all the time and the glitchy gear is not dependent on how warm or cold the tranny is. BTW the clutch is brand new. Apart from a rebuild and replacing synchos (which is not happening any time soon LOL) is there anything else one can do improve the shift quality? Thanks.
