Rodents Ate My Wiring - an Insurance Claim?

I have stored cars for years and used powdered cayenne pepper on the floor of the garage to keep rodents away. I also spread it generously around the entrances to my outbuildings. Since I have been doing it, I have not had a single problem with nesting or chewing rodents.
More humane, less toxic and safer for pets than d-con, it also costs very little when purchased in bulk.
Hope your re-wiring goes well...

As an update, I just heard from the insurance company, and yes they will cover the damage to an agreed value with the mechanic of $1,450. I'm glad they stood behind it and I didn't have to pay that. However, since they have part of the engine disassembled, I'm having the timing belt and some other work done as well. I should have the car back by the middle of next week.
