Default Heater valve 928S vs S4

I have the hot air blowing through the center vent on 85 928s. Found on forum here good info and images for replacing the heater valve. Question: is the procedure & placement the same for 928S and the S4?

when you replace the HCV also0 replace the short hose,
and consider swapping in a new cap for the cooling bottle.
Also since you have an S4 consider swapping in,
a new thermostat and New O ring ,
and the rear thermostat seal .
these would be the basic parts to keep the cooling system functioning properly

Funny thing happened the other day as I was putting some Ninja 250 parts away - I found the Ninja had a nearly identical short radiator hose with one large and one smaller diameter. Priced new from Ron Ayers 7 bucks. The 928 part is 11 or so depending on who you buy it from. Not worth the price difference to me, but interesting find.
