Page 87-103 of the WSM gives the following approximate distribution of the total oil in the system for particular components:
Compressor=40%
Evaporator=35%
Condenser=15%
Fluid Tank (dryer) and lines=10%
The WSM recommends pouring the necessary percentage of the total oil charge based on the component replaced directly into the new component. The total quantity of oil for a system with the 6E171 compressor is 260-300 c.c.
Hope this helps.

I'm finding old threads with no rear AC cars and the same amount of oil was recommended 260-300 c.c.( 280 +/-20 c.c.)???
My car has the rear AC. 88 S4.
I'm changing all the lines, o-rings, expansion valves, drier, new re manufactured compressor by Denso, and flushing the system with AC cleaner. Still debating if I should use R12 or R134.

The WSM lists one oil volume for the 6E171 compressor and a different volume for the 10PA20C. No difference is noted for with rear A/C versus without.
