WOW !
Today I got around to upgrading from version 3.5 to 4.0.
The 3.5 really woke the car up and I was happy with those results and would have been happy longterm.
I was skeptical that Ken could make the programming much better, but he really did. With version 3.5, I was always having trouble getting the car into 1st because the throttle response was low, as was the idle. That is now gone.
The most noticeable difference is the linear power curve from start to red line. The car just pulls all the way up the scale and almost seems supercharged. There is power at very low RPMs and no real flat spots on the way up.
Totally worth it.

I had no idea there was a version 4, thanks. By the time I get around to buying them, maybe he'll have chips for my 87 S4 5spd as well. I haven't noticed the issues you describe with the 3.5 chips. My 86.5 always starts in 1st.
