That's the way these cars are meant to be driven and you can't do that in a tight over-crowded metro area like Boston.
I will continue to make mine (928) louder, lighter, faster.
I only rev it to about 4500 usually not over 4k, that's enough fun for me for now with it 90% of the time.
I used to rev my cars to redline a lot but i want to drive it and not work on it. I worry in the 928 about the TB, in the 3.2 911s you need to worry about the connecting rods.(bolts stretch)
911s like the one Brad wants don't make power below 4000, the cams come on very high, keeping it btwn 4-6000 rpm is challenging. It took me ten years to move on to a 928, glad i did.

When comparing stock 928s to stock 911s there is more stress w/ the 911 imo up to the 993.
Please post a video.

And Brad, G50 Carrera transmissions are noisey sometimes, (can sound like parts are moving around)
it doen't mean there is anything wrong with it.
Good luck with your search
Matt

I agree there is the stress with the 911's by design.

Do you mean the oiling issue of the 2/6 bearing thing, for that I would just come off the gas a little on hard long left turns and keep the oil new. Adjust flex plate for the other thing. These 928 engines are made to be used hard, a Euro auto goes to 6150 under kickdown and then right to 4000 in the next gear from 1st on a start (unlike the later cars). Not many cars have the sound of engine and exhaust plus the smoothness that these cars can do. Even at redline there is no stress from the car, rock solid.

Even though these cars have V8 tourque, they are sleeping below 4K. Some guys (1 the other day) sell these after making statements that these cars are slow, I can't speak about an S4 but that is a silly claim for a euro. These cars (at least in euro, GT, GTS form) are faster and more capable than anyone needs

That was rhetorical but I will give you a video of what the 928 was meant to do on its home turf. These cars were marketed to actually be better than air travel for long distance in Germany. That means very high speed in top gear for long distances and that means HIGH RPM's for sustained periods. The 88 motorweek intro show of the GT had them driving @160 plus for a few hours. So here is a nice video, just picture a 928 doing this, in Germany of course. And don't forget the 24 hour Nardo record where they had a Euro pegged at redline for 24 hours straight.

not me and not recommended for anywhere but the autobahn
