Hi guys I'm new to this forum and looking for a little help!

I have a 1991 S4 suddenly the central locking has stopped working via the remote!
The central locking works fine with the key!
The remote does however put the alarm on and a relay clicking can be heard from in the cabin!

Any suggesstions please is it central locking module?

The 928 originally doesn't have a remote. So it's an aftermarket system that failed.

Your best bet is to remove an aftermarket remote locking/alarm system. Do a search on this forum for the proper wiring diagram for your car to hook up an aftermarket locking system. That clicking you hear is probably from the aftermarket alarm's module/control panel (internal relay) that has an issue. Just curious, does central locking work from the button as well ?

 

Hi yes just been out and tried it. It locks with the red button on the dashboard but won't unlock! Had to use the disk as on the doors to get out!

 

With the ignition on or off? it is only supposed to lock with the ignition off.
