Default undertray/ bellypan

Anyone have a spare undertray for a 78 to 86 for sale . Didn't realize it was missing until we got it up on Pete's lift last week. Part listed on lots of parts sites but when they look for it they say no longer available

Yeah, my car doesn't have one either. I always wondered if it is a aerodynamic necessity. Like the underbelly creating better airflow through theradiator by creating a vacuum while driving.

It does aid in airflow through the engine compartment. It wasn't just designed for it's good looks...there is a purpose for it.

Having said that I never over heated in my 83 and never had one....

Wouldn't it be great if someone made an aftermarket replacement for this? Especially on the European continent because shiiping costs are ridiculous for these things.

Ooh, I think I just found one!

Oly thing is, as I don't have the old undertray, I also don't have the cooling ducts you're supposed to mount on this new undertray with pop rivets. Or did the '78 not have these cooling ducts?

The early cars' undertray only goes about as far back as the engine pulleys rather than all the way to the bellhousing; quite dissimilar. The early ones are all metal, at least, so they don't get torn up as easily.

The large plastic square pan is for the S4, 78 to 86 had a small metal shroud that only covers from the rad to the front of the oil pan.I wish the S4 one would work it would save me the headache
