Designed as an original equipment replacement, a Pipercross panel filter replaces the factory air filter within the airbox. Installation is as simple as opening the airbox, discarding the old filter and replacing it with a free-flowing Pipercross air filter.
Why foam?
Airborn dirt particles quickly clog conventional paper or cotton-gauze style filters, resulting in a pressure drop that robs the engine of air flow and power. Thanks to deep foam construction, Pipercross filters offer a drastically higher dirt-carrying capacity, allowing air to flow at high rates even after many miles of use - a claim that conventional filters cannot make.
Pipercross filters for this application use a combination of a specially-designed two stage foam, plus a light oil to achieve high performance while still maintaining excellent filtration efficiency.
A Pipercross filter is the last filter you will ever need:
~ Improved air flow - Increased power and torque
~ Long service life - 2-3x the dirt capacity of other filters
~ Efficient filtration - 99.06% efficient to 5 microns
~ Rechargeable - Wash and reuse
~ Lifetime warranty - Peace of mind for life
Add a Pipercross filter cleaning kit and you have a filter that will provide high performance, efficient filtration for years to come.

Be careful, kid. Some air filters claim increased HP, torque, etc. when in fact, they muck up your MAF.
Also increased airflow through a filter may just mean that larger particulate is being allowed to pass. More particulate = more dirt. More dirt is not good for your engine.

They state it has a 99.x efficiency of filtering down to 5 microns. I would say that's a pretty good filter if it holds up in the real world. Might give it a shot.

stick with the factory filter,
it plain works very well and keeps dirt out of the engine.

One of the biggest benefits is the service life. A stock filter may flow fine, but it's efficiency is decreased substantially once it starts to get even a little dirty. The porous design of the Pipercross filter is such that the same amount of dirt which would choke a standard filter will hardly begin to fill up the top layer of pores in the filter. The design uses two layers of foam, with progressively smaller pores to prevent dirt from making it through to the intake, while still allowing as many passageways for air to get through as possible. Porsche used a similar method on the 986 filters and Cayenne filters for dusty countries - a layer of coarse foam on top to catch dirt, to prevent the paper pleats from clogging so quickly. If oiled properly, these filters will not damage a MAF sensor, as the oil will remain on the top layer of foam.

Service life:
Oil doesnt last forever either...yet somehow we all agree that its worth using good oil, and buying new oil when it's needed.
Oiled Properly:
Right there is the problem, a 50 cent mistake is a $300 MAF unit shot.
Im sure these work OK, but there is monster power being made on the stock filter just fine, and the MAF fitment under an oiled filter is problematic on the 928.
And..you cant argue around "more air = more dirt"
The results of your ISO 5011 testing will make us all converts if you will kindly provide it.
