They were a race car in their own right. Large sway bars, LOTs of torque, exceptional handling, and most important they had the quattro all wheel drive. I am sure even in a 120 corner the 928 would only have a slight advantage, the rest of the track would belong to the Audi....

Are you saying that car is faster than my 02 Audi S4. That S4 is 2.8 twin turbo Quatro, and my 89 928s4 can spank it. Granted I am supercharged, but I think it would be close if it wasn't

The RS2 had around 315hp in an Audi 80 body. 0-60 was around 4.2 seconds. Top speed was electronically limited to 162 mph. So yes it would beat your 02 s4.....

You seriously underestimate the power your supercharger adds. A stock 928 would not stand a chance against the audi. It was Co - designed by Porsche and built by them. That 5 cylinder engine was (and is) epic.

A B5 S4 is 250chp. They do about 180whp in stock trim. Chipping one gets them to 250whp and they are out of turbos. They are very easily modded though. There are probably 100 of them putting 600+ to the wheels now.

Sure you can add lots to the 2.7 TT. I still like the 4.2 better. More HP (Stock vs stock) and much less maintenance issues....plus it has a V8 rumble that cannot be imitated...

Oh, I agree. That's why I bought my A6 with the 4.2 instead of the 2.7T.

oops yeah I a meant 2.7 lol... My car is tuned and goes pretty good, it spools up super quick, actually too quick I think, those turbos are tiny which holds back a bunch of HP on top. My car runs about 320hp and 360tq. But like I said, it gets spanked by the 928

Turbo size was always a limiting factor on the 2.7.

Point being that Audi was AMAZING for it's time an in fact could keep up with a late 90's / early 2000's 996 carrera if not surpass it. First in a line of RS vehicles to come out of Audi..

NOW, an RS6 is a hole 'nother ball game. 600hp in an estate is just stupid....stupid fun!
