Many grey market cars were USED cars used and depreciated long before they were purchased and shipped to the US. And the new model S-4 made importing a 2,3,4,5 year old 928 which now looked like an "old " car less attractive.....

Add another automatic '83. I can't remember exactly where I got the numbers from, but IIRC there were only 1906 ROW models sold worldwide in '83. Depending on options, some are more rare than others...kinda like my sunroof delete model.

That would be a car without a sunroof (from the factory)... Liked by tall guys - esp. racers - because you pick up about 2" headroom

By the middle early 80's it was hard to find a new 928 without a sunroof. When I was trying to buy one in 87 the dealer terms to order one were ridiculous, huge deposit, long wait, no discount from list price, but mainly no interest from the dealer to do the transaction.
