Default Entry light problems

My door side entry lights will work if you manually select them, but not when opening the doors. I've tried all switch positions with no help. Could the door plunger switches be bad? Any suggestions? Thanks

What about the roof lights - do these work correctly in door switched mode? The pin switches switch all of them the same - so if the door lights work differently to the roof lights - you have a wiring problem in the doors.

remove each pin switch and clean the contact .
Also possible that you have one of the hatch lights miswired as the wires change colors,
you want the lights to be connected all the same way
The power wire goes to the single side connection then the switched ground and steady ground goes to the other end

Sorry, the roof light is inop also. All fuses are good. Will have to check the wiring when the interior comes out. The drivers mirror also is inop, but the passengers works. Who knows how this was wired after it was painted by the PO. My interior pod lights also are out or very dim. I'm thinking the wheel rheostat might be bad or the wiring is totally messed up..

Ahh remove every light housing and inspect the wires for the proper orientation
Disconnect the battery first, any light housing thats melted replace it

Not really sure about your idea to inspect the wires after removal of the interior, arent you trying to fix the lights so they work now?
If so follow the first 2 lines of this post

Yes, but needing new carpets and the seats and some trim pieces will be ColorPlus'd. Will put in a short shift kit and new speakers while everything is out. Dash and pod are good so staying put.
