So I'm saving up for my timing belt nightmare, since I bought my 928 2 weeks ago, the Po prior to the owner I got it from probably didn't change the timing belt or at least I was not given that info. So what would I need?
I know the water pump would be replaced as its already visible and just 5 minutes of labor there.
Parts:
Waterpump: Stock($900) or aftermarket($?)? (Any advice would help)
Timing belt- any good brands I could use that are great in durability
Timing belt tensioner- rebuilt (what do I need) or new?
Brake pads I am replacing asap since my light went on, but I need advice for some good brakes.
I'm looking at some beck/arnley, are these any good? What do you use?

Get the timing belt from him too.
Your tensioner is fine. Maybe replace the seals if you are so inclined.
You have the best starter 928 you can get. Non-interference engine. If the timing belt goes just string another one... I love the 16 Valve engines...

Well I have searched but I couldn't find in depth on the water pump, I really don't want to pay 900 for a stock and any aftermarket WP that works great. Yea I heard 85 and up he that thing that can vent your Valves. So I guess I am lucky.
So are the WP from 928Srus good?

You can drive your car, if the belt jumps time it just stops running.....no big deal if you are not too far from home. Put some miles on it to be sure of what you have, what it needs before you start throwing money at it.....and changing the water pump is way more than 5 more minutes depending on how many water pump bolts break.....

Seriously consider a PorKen Tensioner. They are way better than OEM.
Even without a "valve bender", doing it right is a good idea.

Roger always has the best price too. I have found parts for $350 and call Roger and his price is $180. I know that is an extreme example but a true one. I had to replace the window regulator on the drivers side on my 951. I looked on line for new ones and they were all over $300 so I was delighted when I called Roger and he said they were $180 OEM. I've learned to just call him or email him and tell him what I need and when I need it. If you look on line at prices and then call him you are going to be happy with what you paid.

If you searched this forum and didn't uncover enough information to guide your selection decision on waterpump, then you might want to spend a little more time getting familiar with the search feature.
It is a little finicky. Sometimes you need to bound the search words each in a set of quote marks.
There is a whole lot of info within this forum that you might eventually need.
Good luck with the work on the 84. It is likely you will spend the balance of the $900 buying ancilliiary seals, orings and gears for timing belt job. Cam gears, oil pump gear, crank gear. Roller bearings for various idlers and tensioner pully. a couple of spring clips for the lower idler (yes you can leave it off, but don't), then buy 2 more of same clips to put on your headlight linkage. Another larger clip is needed for backing the tensioner roller. Its also a good time for oil pump seal, front main, and cam snout reseal. If there happens to be oil leaking along sides of engine towards the front half of the engine,, good chance its actually coming from the fat little seals mating the metal covers (behind cam gears) to the front of engine, for instance. Perfect time to fix.
Its not so much about the belt itself as it is about getting everything associated with the belt path to be proper. I've reworked 4 of these 84 timing belts now and seems to be the same pattern of wear and parts needs.

Yea I actually have a very greasy underbelly and it could be from my power steering and also from the oil pan, so I'm actually going to start buying that stuff and take a week off work just to work on this baby. I gonna have to do more research on the gears as I was not aware of.
