With the reverse brake method I did way more than 10 strokes. First the air from the line from the brake caliper is pushed in, then it has to go up, through the whole system. And any tiny bubbles that get left behind may need a not so calm push to get moving.
Perhaps, give it a go again? Pump it, many many times. Push firmly. It is hardly any effort before you try any of the other things.
Good luck, and if it does not firm up than at least you know for sure you need to dig in further.

Ok, I'm gonna try to pop the mc piston. Are there pictures of what awaits me, or how to go about this magic procedure?

Som people say they've filled an empty system using just gravity, why is this so hard for me ?

...and, success!

The mc had nothing but air in it. I removed the circlip, pulled the piston out, just, and let it fill.

Worked like a charm
