well. I finally have it running very well. All those who said it was too much of a project. New MAF, fuel pump and filter. That is all. Idles smoothly and runs like a champ. no lifter tap, not a sound that shouldnt be there.

thanks to those of you who helped me.

No need to ask because you already mentioned it in another thread.

Don't think for a minute we aren't paying attention.

Getting the engine running well is a good step. I think what most of us were telling you is that bringing the whole car back was a major project - probably still true...

But you got this far - so well done - keep at it.

all good no worries. The interior is not being restored, but rather fully resto modded. fiberglass door panels and consoles with rear seat delete. No sense in looking for 30 year old door panels when new fully functional ones can be made with modern improvements. Since car has little if any rust, body work and paint will be a breeze, especially with interior fully out.

I did find a ***** in the armor however. Power steering rack leaks so bad that it sprays out of inner tie rod boot. do they make rebuild kits?

Good job getting the engine running. I have driven a shark as a DD for 20+ years and the reason is that, once they are running well, they are almost bullet proof. Build the car you love and drive it and enjoy. These cars will take all the abuse you can throw at them if you maintain them well.

Good luck and post some progress pictures,
