Default Auto trans Bowden Cable???

Anyone have 928 423 041 06 or just the cable 928 423 901 02 on hand? My dumbass is pulling my transmission and forgot to take the cable off the trans, in turn snapping the nice, black plastic attachment.

I tried to order though Porsche and the cable is NLA (which is what I need) and the entire assembly is uber expensive and only in Germany. I gots to have one or a fix by Tuesday/Wed.

Lemme know if you have one.

You are referring to the plastic piece in the engine bay?
or maybe a picture of what broke would be helpful......

I believe I have one which was broken at the engine. The trans end was fine but I wish you all the luck on repairing just the trans end. I had a hell of a time finding a good used one at a buck seventy five. New ones if you can locate are $400.
Let me know if you want it and I will look harder and get it to you cousin.

Hey Sean,

I have the part below. It came as a plug for my new GB transmission. The only issue is that it would need to be drilled. It's yours if you want it.

I have a spare 928 423 041 06 assembly that the cable casing is in bad shape but should work. The part you need is in good shape I need the cable and the end that attaches to the transmission. I could never disassembly it without cutting the cable. You can have it I'll send a PM.

Snoz, thanks. That part is just fine and the busted part is what attaches to the cable under that.

Lonnie I'll ring you in the morning, Herman has one but might need it for another car.

Thanks guys. I suppose it's a good thing that when I do stupid **** it is on my own car.

Thanks to everyone who sent messages and offered assistance, means a lot to me. I went over to Rogers this morning to see if that burnt up '87 had one still in it, I used the trans years ago and couldn't remember if there was a complete bowden cable or not and unfortunately it was toast. As I was walking past the pile of trash due to be taken to a scrap yard, I saw the front of what appeared to be a throttle cable so I pulled it out. I kept thinking that the only bowden cables he'd have were from 86's that we tore down years ago so I wasn't all that hopeful.

Once I got it out of the pile of debris it was a full assembly so I figured I could take it apart and piece on together but once I got it home and the old one out, they matched perfectly. I guess it was out of an '87 that was long gone so I got real lucky.

Thanks again for the offers.

Sean,
I'm glad you found one. Was it in the stack of stuff you guys were wanting ME to trash at the last Roger's cleanup? If so, I'm glad I didn't listen to you guys.

Yes, only about a foot of it was sticking out of that pile. I had to do some careful bending to get the shaft straight. I'm really glad that pile was still there.

HA!! A good save !!!
I knew some of that $tuff would come in handy sometime/somewhere.
I figured you and Doc sent me to get rid of waste oil to keep me from saving some of that $tuff, glad it didn't totally work.
