s4 electrical--radio wiring and tailights
87s4.
i have 2 electrical wiring issues:
(1) i have the blakpundt radio but cannot figure how to wire it in, po took the oem out and replaced it, trying to "fill the hole" etc
(2) rear tailights, some sockets rusted out so i managed to replace with some napa sockets, cannot figure out how to wire this thing to harness. color codes etc.
anyone done these before please pipe up.

Brown (solid) is always ground (31), Red (solid) is usually battery+* (30) Black is always ignition (15), Black/ Yellow (X) is accessory, . Brown/Yellow = radio alarm connection
At radio Red/Black = switched radio supply -> goes to supresssor (looks like transformer wih 3 pins below left of radio near console side near ashtray). *Red lead from this to the radio is the switched supply.
Small White wire is the antenna amp power supply...
Speakers run to the amp location (side of passenger seat - under the cover - two thumb screws)). Amp may not be there any more - check?
Rear lights:
Brown is Ground (31) to everything (looped variously)
Black/Red = Brakes
Black/Blue = backup/reverse lamp
Green/Red & Green/Violet = Marker/Parking Lamps

electrical
i looked carefully at setups and will include pics.
(1) rear lights-
on one rear light socket there were 3 wires, black, yellow, brown. another wire had brown, and a white wire.
i assume brown is always ground. yellow and white? on the replacement napa wires, they are black, yellow, green. i assume black is ground, but yellow and green?
see pic

For the rear lamps - look at the colors on the connector on the car side...
You shouldn't need ignition for a radio. You will likely need Ground, Permanant Power, Switched Power, You will need the antenna amp power lead connected (for radio reception) and if you have an amp you will need the amp trigger (usually blue - but goes to amp).
I recommend you take at least the passenger side console carpetted panel off (a few screws embedded in the carpet) - you will have much better access. If you also take the drivers side off you will be able to access the supressor inductor very easily too.
