Default seat switches

I have an early 86. Can someone tell me if all of the seat switches are the same. I want to know if all of the pin/harness configurations are the same. Lets say that you had one switch that operated perfectly, could you plug it into any of the four switch locations and operate all of the seat movements? I don't mean from year to year, I know they are somewhat different. I just mean within the same car.
Thanks in advance.

Nope, different number of wires on each switch.

so if I were to order a replacement switch I would have to specify "passenger side, front switch?" That seems absurd

the basic switch is the same but they come with the correct length wires to plug into the different motors for each function. If you cut and splice you can swap the switches around and not need to take the seat out of the car and apart to run the wiring.....But yes each switch and harness is unique for each seat.....
