Default plugs for Supercharger setup

Does anyone have any recomendations for plugs in a 87 with mild boost. I may be running a little rich so I am looking at going to a little hotter plug. Any suggestions on type, brand etc.

I would go back to whomever designed your setup, see what they recommend.

I would fix the running rich problem, spark plugs have nothing to do with the air / fuel ratio.

Running a hotter plug than stock with boost is about the worst thing you can do. Most of us are running 1-2 (or more) ranges colder than stock. Copper only.

Hacker is spot on as usual.

WR5DC+ is all I run in my turbo.

Fix the tune first, do not run a hotter plug!

I am not real sure I am running rich but someone mentioned it one day and now it is in my head. I will be hooking up to a sharktuner again sometime soon so that should get some things dialed in. I do have a air/fuel meter and it looks normal from what I can tell. Thanks for the tip on running a little colder plug.

Is that a Bosch #?

You obviousaly are in the "tuning" phase of the boosted setup on your car. Not having a wide band installed right now is incredibly scary.

Only after that kit is sorted out would I safely drive such a setup without a wide band gauge installed. Sorted out means repeated on a few dozen cars to insure the tune is spot on perfect.
The gauge should also be within eye-site at all times.
One missed lean spot and it's good-buy engine, even with "only" 6psi.

WR5DC+ is the Bosch number.

W - 14mm thread
R - Resistor Plug
5 - Temperature (lower = cooler, NGK is the opposite)
D - Thread Reach & Extended Tip (some of us run non-projected tip, but the tuning can be trickier).
C - Copper

It's the same number as the stock copper plug with the temperature rating changed.

I have to agree with Hacker again,

And yes, that number is Bosch as pointed out.

I'm running WR5DC+ and have been happy with them.

That's what I will do thanks. I called the parts place and they do not have the Bosch but came up with an autolite crossover. I think I will wait for the Bosch.

Ask them for two Bosch 7992 (packs of 4 WR5DC+)
They likely will have those in stock.

Any Bosch service centers in the area?

Call me paranoid, but a few years ago I was talking to a Bosch representative about parts. Long story short he said to be careful buying anything Bosch from a "big box" stores, they are not always the same as items purchased from a certified Bosch reseller (most in the US are repair shops), even if the part numbers cross reference over.

I would order from Roger or 928 Intl - I know their suppliers are the correct parts. Better safe then sorry.

Better yet, I have to make a order with Roger soon anyway. I did take the driver side bank out and they look normal and consistant with each cylinder. A little oil in a few of the wire ends but I am sure it is seepage from the big rubber seals not seated correctly.

Just got the passenger bank out and they look very good too with no carbon or any kind of buildup. I know that does not tell you the exact health of an engine but at least its not telling you right away that something is definetly wrong. I'll call it a victory and something to feel good about.

Never mind the build up, what colour are they?

They are kind of tannish brown. My wife said they looked copper or bronze. I did a rennlist search for pics of plugs and mine look like the ones that posters said looked normal.
