That's a matter of opinion, it's generally agreed that anything lower than 52 should be avoided on 928's.

Because that is what the front suspension was designed for.

Front offset has more to do with geometry than ascetics. The further away you get from the factory offset, the worse the "ackerman effect" will be.

Long story short, those wheels were never designed or marketed towards 928's. I'm guessing that offset would fit a 964 / 993 much better.

Well there is some bad info being passed on about these wheels.


Since I went with what was posted and didnt check the authenticity of the post, I am also posting the wrong info..

If you go to the for sale section where the wheels are you will see that the front wheels are in fact 7.5 with an ET of 52 the rears are ET 47.
Sorry for the confusion.
These wheels should work OK for the front on a 928 though still not optimum .
With the ET 47 rears you may not need any spacers to have the wheels kicked out towards the fenders on a 928

Yep, we've got a set of aftermarket Cup-II's that came on our GT with those dimensions and offsets and they work fine-- handle well and look good. They are a bit heavier than Porsche wheels but the offsets are fine, IMO. And some say they are soft, but we've never had any problems. We don't go around smacking curbs, either. Maybe that's a 911 thing, we've bought a couple of 993 sets with bent rears...

The neutral-steering axis is 55mm (with a 25" tire diameter), so 52 is pretty close. I do think there is a little more tramling on stud-rutted highways, but adjusting front toe to the toe-in side of the spec takes care of that.

As for value, I think it all depends on finish. A first-class refinishing job will run $600-700 for a set.

Based on the pics in your other post, I would say that your fronts have a 52 offset and your rears are 47. Because of the 928's suspension geometry, offsets below 55 are said to create a risk of handling issues. However, 928 owners have reported running 52 offsets in front without any problems. Seems to vary by car and owner.

Nice looking wheels but on the wrong coast for me. You might search completed listings on ebay for Cup 1 wheels to get an idea of value keeping in mind that these are replicas.

I'll take a wild guess on value - IF I were interested, I'd say in the $250-300 or so range. Maybe if the finish is perfect, in the 400 or so range. Most who would want Cup I style would probably want them authentic, and OE Porsche wheels in this style (had a set once) are probably worth about 2X that much.

Those are not OEM but still very nice wheels.
And even though offsets are not perfect, like Stan and others have said there good for our cars. Right?

They are aftermarket version. Easy way to identify OE Cup wheels is to check there is width and ET numbers next to valve hole.
