It's these last two sentences I'm smitten by:
"I have too many of these beasts and can't exercise them properly as it is. I'd like to start another rescue, keep these remarkable automobiles on the road as long as possible."

I agree with the non-Debs. Seller's asking price is possibly not much more than the cost of parts plus purchase price that's been put into the car with the labor thrown in for free out of love for 928s.
As for the interior, it's really only the seats that make it look completely worthless. And that doesn't have to be a super-expensive fix.

What you don't seem to understand is that it was intended as a daily driver car for someone... it's literally ready to be driven to work every day. Making a daily driver is making it safe, reliable, making sure anything crucial inside works, and that it doesn't have any timebomb issues, that is what this guy has done. He's made it safe and reliable. What more do you want?

Not so many '79 5 speeds even still around out there, much less one thats had the recent mechanical work done. Body looks in good shape. I imagine if it had really nice seats and not all of that updated maintenance, then the appearance would make it more marketable to some. Looks like a car well on its way to making a great 928 for someone.

I confess, it's one of my beasts. Don't really want to sell her, the more I drive it lately, the more smitten I become. Honestly, it's a disease.
3000teeth... buy me dinner?
danglerb... entire top end refreshed, yeah seats are not great.
worf928... absolutely correct, that's what I have in it, absent any labor.
17prospective... right on. daily driven beasts live a better life.
outback,mgw,jadz,dean... thanks.
It's a sad truth that we're $10k away from a $5k car. So look at this as the $5k entry fee to that equation. The difference here is that you can drive the **** out of it while you decide how to invest the next 5. The picture is the day it arrived 2 years ago.
Cheers!

well done sir - hope you get every penny, as I think it is well worth it. These early models are special.
