I thought glass filters the UV and that's why you won't get a tan in a greenhouse.
This is mostly true. The sun does however bake the leather and it dries out.

Mine has a rectangular piece that holds the leather tight in the console.
Drying of leather is exactly what happened with the original Porsche leather. It has shrunk badly on several places like dashboard and rear panels. That's what I use the rest of the leater of the seat for... It might not be acceptable to the detailists and original freaks, but to me it's fine, very rewarding and dead cheap.
