Great read, I've driven both and the Ferrari gets more compliments. But that's because people only see the rear end of the 9-2-8. The Ferrari felt older inside and out. It's less polished and you can't bang the gears as confidentially.

An old friend whom I went through my Corvette years with, purchased an 308, after driving my '85 928 he sold his 308 and bought a 928. The 308 just did not have the torque and "rumble" he and I both like.

I have both, completely different cars. Comfort and speed the 928 is the way better car, however for noise and fun in the twisties plus the sense of occasion the Ferrari wins hands down.
So for a trip to pub via a drive in the country I would take the Ferrari, for a drive from London to Monaco I would take the 928.
Both cars have been reliable once maintenance schedule is up to date.
