Default Re-Size Phone Dials

911 guys get their Fuchs re-sized.

A lot are done for RS and RSR clones. Been done for years.

Lindsey racing makes real wide 17"s out of your 16"x 6" Fuchs with offset and width you need.

I just contacted them and see what it would cost to do the same with a set of 16" phone dial wheels.

If any of you have re-size your phone dials please let me know who you used.

EDIT: How in the world do you make a 17" wheel out of a 16" wheel? Gotta go look at Lindsey's website.....

Talked to some 911 guys,
Tru-Design, Lindsey, Rota, Euromeister...They're all a bit different in price and construction, some requiring Fuchs "cores".

Seems if they can do this with classic Fuchs, Phone Dials should be no problem they both offer plenty of material to work with.

I want 17"s and w i d e r in the rear

Jim's wheel design looks much better than I can imagine an upsized phonedial. Just like the zuffhausen fuchs looks tons better than the upsized fuchs.

Right they can't do 18" just 17" and the big Fuchs do look good.
Jim's are beautiful, I want 17"s though is Jim doing 17"s and are they available?
I'll PM him

Great idea, challenging execution. Widening has been done.

Increasing the diameter, I have considered but haven't explored deeply.
Biggest challence is the PD's as cast, not forged (like the Fuchs). Will be difficult to retain strength, while bolting onto or pressing into a rim hat.

Not to say that it's impossible, just will require a fair amount of due-dilligence.
I wish you well in your exploration. Please keep us posted on your progress.

I'd even just want 16" Phone Dials for my '83 Outlaw re-re restoration, but have the rears widened a lot for a period looking tire profile and give it a sleeper attitude.

They can go up an inch w/o a problem, the rim hides the size increase to the eye. I assume they put the wheel in their jig turn them cutting off the rim and tig on the new polished rim machining the weld clean..

I will let you all know what i find out.
Matt
