Default How to use a shark tuner?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and purchasing a shark tuner. I'm curious how hard it is to set up and use? Is it fairly laid out and self explanatory, or will it be a headache? Looking forward to hearing thoughts from anyone who has one or has used one.

Thanks

The Sharktuner itself is relatively straightforward, using it to tune an engine will depend on how much you know (or want to learn) about engine tuning. You can get good results pretty quickly (hours), and spend lots of tine fine-tuning, trying different things, and getting everything dialed in just right. It all depends on what you want to do. But the best part, for me, was getting the insight into what is going on inside those black boxes.

The installation instructions for Sharktuner are in the manual, here or from JDSPorsche.com

The Sharktuner installation consists of installing a "PEM" into the EZK and LH, these are programmable memory modules which take the place of the EPROM's. The Sharktuner box itself simply plugs into the diagnostic connector.

You will also need a WBO2 sensor, something like a TechEdge 2J2 or Innovate LC1, or some other choices. That can replace your factory narrow-band O2 sensor, or if you have an X-Pipe then it simply screws into the second "bung".

The Sharktuner manual has a "getting started" section, as does my SharkPlotter manual here.

I do have an X-pipe for the sensor hook up which will be nice. I'll definitely check out the getting started pages of the online manual.

Thank You my friend.
