Hey, I called the guy and made an appointment to see him at 9:30am. Anything unique you need me to ask him?

Kind of got a little sour on the seller after he requested a 1k deposit before taking the car in for a ppi. Looking at another car now. Am I off base getting a little suspect about the 1k depo??

I would never let someone take off with my 85 euro without a good size deposit. Now think if it was yours? Insurance? And how many 928 85 euros are there with a 5 speed and proven less than 50,000 miles? I rest my case.

This car is not a low mileage Euro, and I'm guessing the car isn't going to be driven by anyone other than the seller to take it for the PPI. If that is true, I wouldn't give a deposit until after the PPI is performed and I agree to purchase the car. Texas and Michigan are too far away to give deposits before agreeing to a sale, in my opinion.

Yes i wouldn't but I'm not asking him that.. I'm in Michigan, he was going to take the car in... after I wired him 1g.. If something were to turn up how would I ever see that g again??

That sounds like BS to me. The seller wasn't willing to take the 2 hrs to get the car inspected for you? (I assume on your dime) I'd walk too. That's just not how you sell a car like this IMO.

As long as the PPI was on your dime the seller should have been happy to take it for a PPI - run away

Ben and Rog are right, any reasonable seller would take the car to your chosen shop for a PPI you are paying for. Asking for a deposit just to do that small courtesy does not sound like he's serious about selling the car ...

My advice would be to just get a nice Wilhoit GTS and make it simple ;-)
