Default fun to have loose rear end!!

It was 45 degrees outside and I took the 928 for a spirited spin with summer tires on and when shifting from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 the rear was really squirlly....what a blast!!!

I know it wasnt smart

Be carefully, emergency braking will not end well at those temps. Trust me on that one. But glad you had fun and got back safe.

At 45 degrees on dry pavement a set of snow tires wouldn't last 500 miles on that car....

What width rear tires are you running, Andy? You don't still have the stock Cup 1 rims on there? I tried Cup 1's with 255's on the back and it was a joke.

Andy, Careful on those cold tires. Used to own a E600 MB/Porsche/Renntech. It would actually slow down incinerating the rear tires when I stomped on it in cooler weather. T

This weather sure does make it fun. I realized today that 1/2 my rear tire is smooth as glass while the other half has a few ripples that might have been tread. Going to have to buy a new set real soon.

I think he is saying that braking traction suffers with summer tires on cold pavement. Meaning you won’t stop as quickly and controlled as you may be used to.

I thought he was talking about the OP ripping the e-brake.

I drive my S4 all year round on Bridgestone Potenzas have only been stuck a couple of times in the last 13 years. Not a big issue as the roads get cleaned up very quickly. My driveway is another thing and that is where I have most of the problems.

Being in Texas, I really can appreciate mid 40's temps.

Andy, your car reminds me of this classic (to me) Top Gear line from a race between a Pagani Zonda, and a Bugatti Veyron:

"That is the power, of power".

Fast forward to about 5:40 in the video.......
