Another thank you for this thread! I have the same problem - replaced odo gear and it worked for a couple of weeks and then quit. I will be taking it apart and cleaning/sanding the gear again even though I did that the first time, but eventually I gotta get one of these!
Another benefit is the accuracy of the gps speedo. Doesn't matter if you change tires/wheels either.

I'm thinking about installing a GPS speedometer instead of fixing the gear. Has anyone used one for a while and can report back?
