Default Shifter clock surround removal

Does anyone have a write up to do this? I've searched but don't see a step by step on how to remove it. Is it a pull, and hope it doesn't break like the H surround around the hvac unit? (Oh yeah I broke one of those too.)

I'm attempting to change out the surround that has holes for rear a/c, but no a/c. Also gonna change the "wanna be stick" auto shifter back to stock.

Thanks Guys. Its good to be back on here after a great weekend. GO RAVENS!!!!

You need to take out all the stuff "above" that on the console (radio, vents, ash tray etc.). When those are all removed, you can pull it slightly forward and up. It's a tight fit, but it WILL come out. Pulling shifter and the boot off before you pull it out may help as well.
