Good wheels for a 928
I was browsing at wheels for my Audi and stumbled across these and noticed the Porsche sizing. 18 x 8 et 59 and 18 x 9 et 53. I think the style would look great on a 928 with the thick spokes

Lead butter alloy wheels, thats what I thought of my last set of wheels from Sport Edition.
They looked great, had excellent fitment, but my goodness were they heavy. I had a stet of 17 inch Sport Edition 4s, and when I swapped back to OEM wheels with the same tires I lost 8 lbs a corner. That is a lot of unsprung weight to be hauling around.

Could you buy 4 rears and have 9" at all corners? Offset: 53mm?

9" ET53 wheels would be bad for the front. The wider the wheel, the larger the offset you need. 18x8" ET59 is very good in the front though, better than the Carrera III wheels.

Thanks for the reply. I am always on the look out for matched wheels on all four corners.

Will these fit an 84? I'd like to get phone dials but 18" wheels would leave more options for brake upgrades.

They look REALLY nice though and I look forward to seeing them on a 928! I am not sure they are much heavier than the PanAm 18" 5 spoke base wheels though, which I run on my '95 GTS and just LOVE! The place I noticed a big difference was going from stock 16" slotted dish wheels to aftermarket Carrera Light Weight 18" wheels! BIG CHANGE!!! Braking and putting power down were both hurt badly!

Dan is exactly right. These should look very nice. Weight does a couple of really bad things though... Heavy steering which will wear parts faster, heavy wheels are harder to slow down, so breaking will be noticeably worse and on the opposite end of that is putting power down to the pavement, it will take more power to spin those wheels up, so slower acceleration.

These Sport Editions are about 19.75 lbs heavier for the set than the Cup 2's.
