Great Minds...
Lizard shifter already on the way (Thanks Rog!). BTW, in part thanks to your recommendation on the Lizard Shifter thread.

If I wasn't clear, one of the biggest reasons for buying this car was that I wanted something more track appropriate, and a Lizard Shifter fits that plan. The '88 auto is an awesome car, but a 5-speed no sunroof was too much of a temptation.

Ken, you'll have to let me drive it with that shifter one Saturday. Or at least feel how it shifts. That was on my "list" for "coming home" updates.

Ken, take good care of my boy's car! Ok, Jon is not ACTUALLY my son, but he and I spent much time together at PCA events and race tracks all through his middle school and high school years and he did have a room at my house for a year or so I guess... Hence his addiction to 928's!

BTW, Ken, you have two AWESOME colors there!

^^^I agree. I was not able to make it out enough with that car. I'm hoping to take my Z06 out to some of the meets though. If there is a "Corvette" guy that shows up and knows quite a bit about 928s, that's me. I'm also hoping that I can be on track at the same time with Ken and this car in the new year. I'm wanting to do a few DE events and some AX.

Jon, you are certainly welcome to drive it with the new shifter.
James, No worries, the car is in a good home!

Stan & Jon,
I see from this post:
https://rennlist.com/forums/7948600-post95.html
That Stan installed Porken Chips and a S4 FPR in October of 2010.
Has it been updated since then? What version of the chips would be in there currently?

The chip-set was updated to the version before the most current one. Again, it was on my list of "to-dos" once I came home. The current version is V4.0 I believe. The ones I installed were V3.8 if I remember correctly. I think the ones Stan installed were V3.6?

Either way, that car should outrun your S4 pretty easily.

It does feel significantly quicker than the S4. However lap times at VIR will tell the whole truth. I'll let you know.

Spent some time with Ray Munsch today giving it a once over and specifically looking at the clutch, which still feels off to me. It's not sticking or anything obvious, and all the shifts are no problem, but the engagement is very abrubt, and I can't back up the slight incline of my driveway without it chattering.

I also broke the hinges in the rear console glove box trying to strech the leather back to the edges of the lid.

Awesome, last time Ray had the car he cleaned all the grounds. It's really been out of DD duty since then though. I think that the clutch may just need an adjustment? I wanted him to give the car a good once over prior to supercharging (which he is NOT a fan of BTW), checking the clutch adjustment was going to be included. I've never had a dual clutch car, and I know they can be finicky. Which is why I never really gave it much thought because I just assumed it was relatively normal.

I think I opened the rear console once! I can't believe that it would break those hinges. Wow.

I see you're collecting Norse weapons. Spear of Odin and Hammer of Thor huh?

I broke the hinges myself. The leather had pulled back from the corner, so I had soaked it in Leatherique rejuvinator to soften it up and was pulling it hard trying to get it back to the edges. I suceeded there ( mostly) but I realized that the twisitng and pulling had destroyed the plastic hinges.
Kicking myself, because it would have been easy to pull the hinge pins and seperate the halves before I began stretching the leather. But thats not the first or last time I will break one thing trying to fix another.

IIRC, that car has V3.6 chips. That was the last of the original chipset.

V4.0 has totally different programming and was completely retuned.

If the cruise control doesn't work (likely), then get the No-Lift-Shift option.

(Caution, you'll never want to drive a manual w/o it, again.)
